I like men in mini skirts and platform boots

The first thing you need to know about “Kinky Boots” the Broadway play is that it is a MAGNET for Drag Queens.

Not transvestites but DRAG QUEENS.

What’s the difference, you ask?

Well, when a drag queen puts on a frock, she looks FABULOUS. When a transvestite puts on a frock he looks like Winston Churchill in his mother’s knickers.

At least that’s what they say in the play.

What can I say about this play that hasn’t already been said?

It’s magnificent. Glorious. Funny. Poignant.

The music and lyrics are OUTSTANDING.

If I were you, I would run, not walk, to go see it.

I saw it with my friend Michelle last night.

As we were walking in, a taxi full of drag queens emptied out into the street much to my utter joy and pleasure.

It was breathtaking to behold – all those platform boots, mini skirts with fishnet nylons, and makeup.

Oh, and beards. Yes, some of the men were sporting beards.

Now I’ve never been one to find effeminate men appealing. I’ve always like lumberjacks. But a lumberjack dressed up as a drag queen is some sort of wonderful.

I totally liked it.

I imagined myself undressing him and taking off all his feminine accoutrements. Platform boots, mini skirt, fishnets, and more.  All the way down to his silky panties.

The wig I leave on for shits and giggles.

I was surprised by my interest in cross dressing men. But they looked fun. Playful. And sexy in their own way.

And that’s what the theme of “Kinky Boots” is all about – ACCEPTANCE. The ability to be who you are. Accept and love who you are. And then to turn that outwards and accept others just as they are.

And if you can throw in a pair of fierce red sequin platform boots, mores the better.
