I am absolutely CRUSHED by the results of the US Presidential election.
This is my nightmare, come alive – to hand the reins of our country over to a misogynistic egomaniac who is completely under qualified and under prepared for the task of running the world’s largest democracy.
Words cannot describe the agony I feel and the embarrassment I am experiencing at the thought that the rest of the world is now keenly aware of the level of racism and misogyny that is alive and well and living in the hearts of nearly half of all Americans.
When my infant son died of cancer, before I even got to hold him, I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach.
It was a horrible feeling of disbelief, shock, and deep deep mourning for something precious that was now lost to me forever.
And I KNEW that this was a feeling I’d have to carry with me for the rest of my life.
These elections results have left me with a similar feeling.
To all my global readers – I am so sorry us Hilary supporters weren’t able to get her elected (although it does appear she won the popular vote).
Rest assured that there are millions of Americans out there who, like myself, are outraged that this could happen in our modern day and age.
I will dedicate myself to fighting for the rights of minorities – for women, African Americans, Latinos, Muslims, and LGBTQ rights.
I’m skeptical there’s anything that man can do to improve the lives of middle class citizens. I believe he will go down in history as THE WORST PRESIDENT TO EVER SIT IN THE OVAL OFFICE.
But I’m waiting to see if he’ll prove me wrong.
We shall see. . .
