Midas Touch

I’m seriously bummed that Burning Man 2018 is over.

What will I do with my time now that I don’t need to plan how to survive in an inhospitable alpine desert environment for a week?

Plan more costumes, of course!

I’ve been thinking it’s time to put together a GOLD outfit.

Something very monochromatic with gold EVERYTHING!

I’ll be a dancing queen.

Here’s what I’ve dug up so far:

I LOVE the idea of combining the winged headdress with actual wings on your shoulders, though in practice I might leave this feature out since walking around in wings is really annoying.

You bump into everyone.

I guess you could say that since Burning Man 2018 is complete, I’m back to the drawing board as far as costumes go.

Time to design some more.

For sure I’m going to base them on bathing suits, since swimsuits are compact as well as fashionable.

What do you think of my Midas Touch costume?

  1. Actually, you are tall enough that the winged headdress should be plenty enough to set you apart without needing the actual wings and all the inconveniences that they bring.

I made an all Gold Cyborg costume years ago – I named it C4PO (you know, C3PO’s older brother, although in retrospect it should have been C2PO, but I digress.) I think you would be great in an all Gold outfit.

I love your thought process: several years ago I realized that most of my friends had seen all of my “best” costumes, so I needed to get some more. I went on a buying spree (thank you eBay and Amazon) and stocked up on 4 or 5 more new Costumes. Several have still not been used, so I am set for a while – until the next “inspiration” hits me.
