Interactive Party

I went to a birthday party this weekend and it was OUTRAGEOUSLY FUN!

Yes, the birthday boy is a burner so it was bound to be spectacular, but really it was EXTRAORDINARY!

First of all, street clothes were discouraged (although it did not take precedence over having friends attend).

Instead, we were asked to dress in themes that represented our true self.

Burner wear, costumes, lingerie, etc were all present and accounted for.

I wore my Ashley Graham outfit.

The theme for the party was participation, so everyone was encouraged to share their talents with the crowd.

I wore a silver and black hat I made and I talked to people about how I made it and gave out little cards with the names of suppliers, for ribbons, rhinestones, base hat, etc.

It was a fantastic evening and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I had the MOST AMAZING TIME!

When it came to entertainment, the party guests really knocked it out of the park:

  • Naked fire dancing
  • Belly dancing
  • Ropes and suspensions
  • Jazz singing
  • Dancing
  • DJ music
  • Guitar playing
  • Flogging

By the time I was ready to leave, I was fully saturated with entertainment and fun!

What an excellent idea for a party!

Go ahead and rip off the idea for your next party. . . I guarantee it’ll be the most fun you’ve ever had at a party!

MichelleAt noon on March 1st I logged in to my Burner Profile and purchased a vehicle pass and two DGS tickets for Burning Man 2017: Radical Ritual.

DGS tickets are tickets set aside for purchase by theme camp participants so that they can attend and offer their interactivity to attendees.

It took me less than two minutes to procure my tickets.

It was a seamless, smooth process.

I couldn’t help but be reminded of the first year I bought tickets, in 2015.

I just decided I wanted to go and that Burning Man would be my BIG ADVENTURE for 2015.

In case you’re wondering, my BIG ADVENTURE of 2014 was a boudoir photo shoot so this was considerably more involved.

Somehow I got lucky and managed to get a ticket in the 2015 sale.

I remember sitting there at my desk at work in 2015, staring at the receipt, a little in awe, thinking, “Now what?!”

And I must say, I had no idea then that I was purchasing a ticket to something that was going to change the direction of my life FOREVER.

I’ve made friends, joined a community, and created experiences that I NEVER would have without Burning Man.

It has been an EPIC transformation for me.

Looking back now, I wonder how different my life would be had I not bought that ticket way back in 2015.

I wouldn’t know my BFF Tejas or his girlfriend Yvonne.

I wouldn’t be open to new experiences.

And I sure would’ve missed out on a whole lot of art!

No, life wouldn’t be the same.

I think the most valuable gain for me has been the Burning Man community.

Open. Creative. Humorous. Talented. Reliable.

Two years ago I was just dipping my toe in that community.

Here I am today fully immersed in it.

I didn’t realize that until just now, how much Burning Man has altered my life for the better.

And I am ever so THANKFUL!

SoulFire is coming up!

white witch michelleI will be camped out in my tent, Pete, with Tejas.

He didn’t want to bring the RV this time so we’re tenting it.

I’ve got all sorts of costumes to wear:

My rainbow jumpsuit

My see-through kaftan

My white wizard outfit

My light up tutu

I’m totally excited to see what SoulFire brings to me and what I bring to it.

I’ve got gifts to give away – light up rings, SPF30 organic chapstick, AND LED HEART PINS!

Last Soulfire I went to I wrote about some friends and got TOTALLY BUSTED!

So this year there will be no posting about SoulFire, save my own escapades there.

I got a little wild last time. We’ll have to see what transpires this time.

Will I hook up with someone new and have a serious makeout sesh?

Will I traipse around naked by the pool and hot tub?

Will I get nicely inebriated and dance my head off?

Chances of all things happening are pretty good, so cross your fingers, say a prayer, and wish the best for me!

‘Cuz it’s gonna be fun!
