So we’ve established I was hot during my ENTIRE trip to Sweden.
With a suitcase full of warm sweaters and tights, what was I to do?
Well, I went with The Swede to visit his friends in Jättendal for New Year’s Eve.
And. . . The Swede’s friends have a hot tub.
First I was served the most SCRUMPTIOUS meal – mashed potatoes, steak, and pickled asparagus wrapped in bacon.
Then I jumped into the hot tub (with a bathing suit on, natch).
Before too long, even the snow banks and cool air couldn’t keep me at a comfortable temperature.
So I jumped out and sat in the snow in my bathing suit.
And I will have you know, neither one of the Swedish born-and-bred men who were in the hot tub with me got out to jump in the snow.
Just saying. . .
This California girl likes her ARCTIC PLUNGES!
This year I decided to celebrate the passing of 2016 and the arrival of 2017 with my friend Barbara. I was invited to a black tie affair at a friend’s home nearby and Barbara was my “plus one.”
Barbara hashtagged our Facebook photos with:
Yes indeed, it appears that most people think Barbara and I are somehow related. I take this as a compliment because I think Barbara is an exquisitely beautiful person, inside and out.
Here are some photos from New Year’s Eve. As you can see we had a lot of fun with Snapchat and Messenger filters:
Last year I went to a HUGE house party for NYE. I’d say there were somewhere between 100 to 200 people in attendance.
It was really a magnificent event and I had a great time with my date.
I believe I drank my weight in champagne but managed to keep a lid on things.
No, I didn’t disgrace myself until the Dr. Seuss party where I drank too much rum and spewed vomit all over his car pulled over on the side of the road.
See if I ever let anyone make my drink again without me watching!
Anyhow, this year I’m going to the same house party.
This time with the beautiful Barbara as my date.
Yes, nothing like bringing your BFF to a party to ensure that you have a GREAT time!
Of course, there will be no NYE kiss for me this year (sad face) but I might be able to scrounge up a partner or two to lay one on me.
And here, I’m debuting my outfit for NYE – a lovely rose gold sequin gown with matching accessories!
Yay! Totally gorgeous!
Buh-bye 2016, HELLO 2017!
New Year’s Eve I went to the most AMAZING Black Tie party hosted by a dear friend of mine in his luxurious home in the South Bay! My date was dressed to the nine’s in a black tux with shiny black shoes.
At first, I was thinking of not going to the party. After all, who wants to go to a NYE party by themselves?
But then my date asked me out and and getting dressed up for him seemed like a good idea. Here’s my lovely dress, without me in it…
Sadly, we didn’t get a single full length picture of our outfits but you can see our smiling faces here….
I had a great time dancing, socializing, sitting around the fire, and sipping champagne into the wee baby hours of 2016.
Happy New Years to all!
Okay, so I’m planning on getting dressed super fancy for New Year’s Eve this year.
Last year I wore a dress that fit me horribly. It was way too large and the top kept falling down.
Good for the guests, bad for me.
This year I’ve planned ahead and will be getting my dress early.
Here are the two front runners:
I’m really drawn to the blue, but the gold is stunning as well (so I got both).
I’m also a little bit addicted to THIS dress (because of the color):
You can never go wrong in red, can you? I just read that men are more attracted to women wearing red than in any other color because it symbolizes sexual readiness.
Looks like I’ll have to go to SEVERAL parties -OR- have wardrobe changes!
